Boudoir Experience Guide

The days leading up to and after your session are just as important as the time you spend with me taking photos . I’ve put together some tips and tricks to help you feel prepared and relaxed walking into the studio!

Before

Schedule your session around your menstrual cycle! Be in tune with and base this on your own individual body - but anytime prior to ovulation is usually when we’re feeling our best emotionally and physically.

Lingerie Brand Recommendations that I personally own or client’s have purchased and can vouch for:

  • Amazon (be sure to check reviews)

  • Lounge

Pick outfits that you are comfortable in! Try them on, more than once! Make sure the fit isn’t too tight/loose and that it’s a style you’re already familiar with. Especially for my girls who are brand new to boudoir, consider whether you’re being playfully adventurous or pushing a boundary in an unfamiliar environment. For example, if you haven’t worn it in the bedroom or had boudoir experiences prior, I wouldn’t recommend bringing something like bondage to your first boudoir session. As you gain confidence and experience, you’ll feel more comfortable to explore with outfits and props.

Moving your body in the weeks leading up to your session will help you have strength and stamina for posing! Even simple, light activity does wonders for our mood and digestion. So walk/run, lift weights, play a sport, do something active with your family, etc.

Adding on to the above - STRETCH! Stretching leading up to your session will give you comfort moving through poses. Your body will be more relaxed and you’ll be able to sink deeper into the pose for max drama.

Practice having relaxed hands, pointing your toes and facial expressions in the mirror.

(coming soon) Pose photo examples so you can practice all the staple poses at home ;)

Session Day

Wear loose-fit clothing on the way to your session to reduce any marks being left on your skin. Think socks, pant leg and waist, hair ties, bra, underwear, etc.

Believe it or not, posing can be somewhat of a mini workout, so it’s important that your body is fueled. It’s a good idea to have at least a light meal and/or snack before your session. HYDRATE! Being hydrated will give you glowy and plump skin.

If you’re bringing multiple outfits to your session, plan to save your most favorite outfit for second, third, anything other than first. It can take a bit to settle into the flow of things so I recommend saving that woww outfit for when your inner muse has come out to play.

Come with the confidence and comfort to communicate any boundaries you have before and during posing. Just because I suggest a pose, does not mean you have to do it! I never want you to feel uncomfortable, only confident.

After

Celebrate yourself! You did it, and you’re probably feeling like you could walk on water! Soak in the feeling and keep it in your back pocket for the next time you’re doubting your power in being a woman.

Continue to hydrate and STRETCH! You’re probably going to be sore the next day. Mini workout, remember?
